Well what a summer it has been!
We have been far and wide searching out great classic cars and we have also been enjoying ourselves at many shows around the UK. Our smoke grey Morris 1000 found a new home within 48 hours of listing and our Beetle has travelled north to its new home. We have just found another Morris four door which is being serviced and prepared this week and we do not expect it to hang around long either. We really hope that the awesome classic cars that the sun brings out will continue to make the odd trip through the winter so even the dullest days can be brightened up. Stay tuned for more finds coming soon - happy motoring!

Fun times here at Barnes HQ! The 1971 Morris is with us and it is not often that we come across a car that has so much character and brings so many smiles to peoples faces. The Morris drives so well that we wish we could keep her - it will be hard to replace and if we could store them all we could build some kind of collection - but then we wouldn't have the time to enjoy them all so it has to go to a good home!
Philippa (our MD) is working hard to return calls to everyone who has enquiries but do feel free to drop us an email for a quick turn around. You can reach us at sales@barnesclassiccars.co.uk We hope to meet lots more of the lovely people who keep the classic car hobby going at various shows over the next few weeks - please do take a browse of our 'out and about' pics in the videos and link pages - we love snapping lovely cars! Stay tuned for more and enjoy the summer - happy motoring! Here we are enjoying the summer sun! So far we have been to two great shows and it always great to see such passion for classic cars going strong. Our recent trip to the Little Dunmow car show was an excellent day where many people admired our Beetle which stood out next to the Ferrari parked next to it (well we thought so!)
We have seen some great cars becoming available and we are progressing into a larger parking availability so soon we will be able to develop our stock list even more. We have recently purchased an outstanding two owner Morris Minor from 1971 which has only 62k from new - it drives really well and we were surprised to cruise at 60mph with no rattles or wobbles at all - very unusual for such an old vehicle. The lovely couple we bought it from have had it since 1987 and it has always been garaged and occasionally taken out for a short spin - we wish we could keep all our cars this long! In the recent classic car press there was an article about which cars are increasing in value and the emergence of air cooled Beetles (as well of course as the meteoric rise of all Porsche) and classic British cars is good news - we have always thought that these cars were undervalued and they will not be making anymore so the search for cars in excellent condition continues in haste - the only problem is we will look back in twenty years time as the prices spiral upwards and wish we had kept them all? Time will tell. We have another show next weekend and trying to choose whether to take the Beetle of the Morris is pressing.... we will keep you updated! Enjoy the summer and happy motoring! Why not make it a weekend that everyone can enjoy? If you are thinking of viewing one of our cars then why not also book the luxury B&B at Clay Hall House - we will be happy to bring the car to you to view. Clay Hall House also provide classic car hire for a day out or a special occasion so please have a look at their site at www.ClayHallHouse.co.uk for details.
We are very busy here after the summer break and looking forward to taking delivery of another lovely MGB GT that has been fully restored - we just wish we could keep them all - what other British classic car that has been fully rebuilt can you enjoy for £5k? We continue to look for cars to buy and if we can help with any sourcing do let us know. We are out and about at car shows over the next few weeks including a day on the 7th in Little Dunmow to raise money for cancer awareness - please come and have a chat! We look forward to sharing our latest discoveries and we are thrilled to be working with a luxury B&B that is close to us and run by great people so treat yourself to a great classic car weekend away! |
